to Robert - why i'll never look at green grass again

this is for one of my best friends Robert, he and I have this running joke in spanish: I call him smart as a head of lettuce and he calls me smart as a dead gold fish, sort of this huge inside joke we have with each other that I wont get into. It would take so much space. So here it is, I didn't know whether to put it here or in lyric, c'est la vie. well enjoy kids.

--------

you are as smart as a head of lettuce roberto es tan listo que chuga
i'm the dead goldfish you fished for tu eres tan listo que una pescado oro
you write in purplecircles
i chant in lines
and you hate that pink pen of mine

somehow we've made it to the middle

scattered notes i've kept are the only remnants
of mock battles and conjoined melodies of laughter
and this is the way it goes

i pick on you, you pick on me
and everyone laughs loud

the only problem we have is in getting back up
our knees sore from childish wanderings

dreams may come and dreams may go
and we may never find solace

but in darkdreamy nights
we can reminse how much it hurts

to be silent

Wow. I love all your poems but this was one of the best. I don't think it was really nessiacry to explain at the beginning but it helped. I can relate in way too...

And the ending was great. You are great at linebreaks in my ohpinion.

I love it. Me, being the outsider and not knowing what any of this means, it seems so random a silly, which I absolutely love! It also shows a slice of your life. I love getting that little window into people's lives that makes you want to see more. Nice... that is all.
